2019 Music Line Up

After a bumper party year in 2018, this year we go back to our roots with a lot more traditional folk bands on the bill - it's all about those fiddles and banjos! There are some amazing night time dancing bands booked too... deep folk by day, deep beats by night...

Sessions Following feeback in 2018, we are focussing a lot more on session spaces and workshops... The Travelling Barn will become the official late night session space from midnight until late, after the stage has closed (keep an eye out for some of our headline artists hosting these sessions! - Bruce Molsky on Friday, Chance McCoy on Saturday and Nick Hart and the Whiskey Moonface crew on Sunday). The Speakeasy will run Thursday - Saturday, and be closed on Sunday for an epic singalong with the Cash Cows. There will be 2 other tents open all day for sessions, as well as the campfire of course.

Spotlight Trinidad and Tobago

Another new things we are starting, and copying from the amazing Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, is to "Spotlight" the traditional music of another country/culture each year. After some of our crew visited a beautiful festival in Trinidad last year (New Fire Festival), we have chosen Trinidad and Tobago - bringing some Carnival Vibes to the hills of Mid Wales! Performing will be veteran Calypsonian Singer Tobago Crusoe and his band Tobago and D'Lime (who also happened to do the soundtrack to Paddington Bear movies!). The Bristol based crew behind "The Super Soca Show" will play a set on the "History of Soca Music".

Choir in the Mountain

The utterly fantastic Ye Vagabonds have agreed to host our Choir in the Mountain singing workshops this year... can't wait!

Cajun Music!

The Ultimate Folk Music Mix Tape

The Promoter behind the festival, Two For Joy Music, here presents an epic 5.5 hour mix of Folk Music to celebrate 10 years working in live music promoting. This mix is a near enough a chronological exposition of nearly 100 bands that have performed over the years with Two For Joy Music and at Fire in the Mountain... We hope you enjoy

2017 Line Up

'Every now and then everything comes together to make a gig that little bit special and Fire in the Mountain festival was definitely one of those times. There were so many inspiring friends and musicians in the audience for our gig on the Sunday night and we left the stage with the whole place carrying on the chorus to 'Keep your Hand on the Plough'. The whole festival felt like the start of a new, vibrant, edgier folk scene that we're really excited to be a part of'. Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith, 2017.
